If you are looking for very low profile tire chains maybe you go to your dealership and they recommend you getting cable chains then this is usually what you would be looking at. Titan Chain Tire Chains Review - 2014 Toyota Prius v- Video
Hi, everyone. It's Evangeline here at etrailer and today I'm doing cable snow tire chains and seeing how they fit on the 2014 Toyota Prius v. So, the current chain I have here on the ground, and on our tire, is our diagonal cable chain. So, this is a popular style just because people like how low profile a cable chain is and how it still gives you traction without taking up too much space. Now, I have tried a bunch of different tire chains and I like to test fit them before I continue and I notice that this is a really, really, really tight fit on the Prius v. So, you can see here how we have this cable, and this is supposed to connect to the hook on the other side. more

Pewag All Square Mud Service Tire Chains Review - 2002 Toyota Tundra- Video
Today, on our 2002 Toyota Tundra, we'll be doing a test fit of the Pewag All Square mud service snow chains, part number PWE2439S. The tire we'll be working on is going to be a 265/70-R17. When you pull them out of the bag, make sure you straighten them out on the ground and make sure you get all the kinks and/or twists out of it. With that done, make sure that you have your tensioner and your hook on this side. It makes it easier for when you slide it over the tire. You put the side over with the hook over first. That way, all your hooks are facing outwards. more

Pewag Brenta-C Square Link Tire Chains Review - 2002 Toyota Tundra- Video
Today on our 2002 Toyota Tundra, we'll be test fitting the Pewag Brenta-C 4 by 4 Snow Tire Chains with the Square Links, part number PWXMR82V. Our tire size we're using today is a 265/70-R17. All right, the first thing we want to do once we get our chain out of the box, we'll lay it flat, we want to make sure that we've got all the kinks and twists out of it. Make sure everything is disconnected. Then next we can feed it around our tire and then we'll take our connector on this side and connect it with this one. We'll come up behind our tire and we'll connect it just like that. Then we'll grab the chain and just work our way around and bring it over the tire. more

Glacier Square-Link Snow Tire Chains Review - 2014 Toyota Sienna- Video
Today on our 2014 Toyota Sienna we'll be installing the Glacier Square-Link snow chains, part number PWPLC1142, an SAE class S tire chain. This is a set that includes both a driver and passenger side set of chains. Now let's go over some of the physical features of our tire chain. Here on the inside chain we have just a simple hook. It's going to attach to the open links on the other side of the chain. On the outside we have more of a lever-style hook that will hook into some open link and then come back around and get secured to the outside portion of the chain. more

Glacier V-Bar Snow Tire Chains Review - 2015 Toyota Tundra- Video
Today on this 2015 Toyota Tundra, we're going to install part number PWH2828SC. This is a Glacier V Bar Snow Tire Chains with cam tighteners. We're working with a tire size of 255 by 70R18. It's a good idea to install your snow chains like we're doing here before you actually need them, so you'll be familiar with them. First off, we'll go ahead and lay out our chains to show how they go onto the tire. First off, what you want to look for is that our cross bars here, that this part here faces toward the tire and this part here faces toward the concrete. You can also take a look at the V links that are welded onto the cross bar chains, take a look at the cam tensioner. more

Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains Installation - 2015 Toyota Tundra- Video
All right, today, on this 2015 Toyota Tundra, we're going to install part number TC2828CAM. This is is Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains with Cam Tensioners with a V-Bar Link. It's a good thing to lay out your snow chains and understand how they work, before we actually need them, like we're doing here. First off, we'll make sure we have the chains . they'll be sitting correctly on the tire. To check that we're going to make sure at the end of the chain here, the crossbars, that this link right here with the ends will be facing towards the ground, and this part should be facing towards the tire. This is one of the cam tensioners right here. This always stays on the outside of the tire. And our tensioner at the end here, also needs to have access on the outside of the tire. Take a quick look at the crossbar here with the chains. more

Titan Chain V-Bar Snow Tire Chains Installation - 2015 Toyota Tundra- Video
Today on this 2015 Toyota Tundra, we're going to install part number TC2828. This is Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains in a Ladder Pattern and V-Bar Links. It's a good idea to get familiar with the chain before we actually need them, like we're doing here. First, we're going to make sure on the crossbar, that the end, this link, this part is facing towards the tire, and these ends of the hooks are facing towards the ice and snow. We'll take a look at the crossbar here, and you can see the little v-links that are welded to the chain, and of course you don't want that digging into your tire either. At the end of the chain there are two hooks that we need to have one on the inside and one on the outside. This style hook right here, acts as a little bit of a tensioner. This needs to be on the outside of the tire, and this plane hook right here needs to be on the inside edge of the tire. We'll drape it over top of the tire. You want to make sure that the bars are even across the tread of the tire on both sides, and then we'll tuck the chain underneath the tire. Make sure it's untangled on the inside and on the outside, that way you get easy access to the chain and the hooks. Then, what I like to do is roll the truck forward or backward, whichever provides the easier access to the inside, then we can connect our chains up. We'll connect our inside edge of the tire first. more

Titan Chain Snow Tire Chains with Tensioners Installation - 2015 Toyota Tundra- Video
Today and it's 2015 Toyota Tundra, we're going to install part number TC2228CAM. Those are titan chains, steel tire chains with cams. This also has ladder pattern to it and with twist links. Now, it's a good idea to go do your practice rim before you actually need them on the axis mill 00:00:19 like we're doing here. Also, you want to get familiar with it to know how the chain is supposed to sit on the tire. This side of the chain is supposed to ride on the tire and these two points here are supposed to go against the ice and snow. Okay. more

Today on our 2014 Toyota Tundra, we'll be installing the Titan Snow Chain with ladder pattern, v-bar links, part number TC2828. Now with our snow chain laid out, we can see the open links here, for the adjustment in size. These will get hooked to the other end of our snow chain. Now this is ladder v-bar pattern, for additional traction. Another note, here where the cross link connects to the outer chain, you'll see that it hooks through the link. We'll make sure that the flat side of the hook goes against the tire. On the outside, we're going to have a cam hook and securing triangle, so the open link will go through the cam, and get locked down. more

Glacier Square-Link Snow Tire Chains Review - 2007 Toyota Prius- Video
Today we're going to be doing a test fit of the Glacier Square Links Snow Tire Chains, part number PWPLC1126 on our 2007 Toyota Prius. These chains are made with a case hardened square link. It's going to give us superior grip whether we're in the snow, ice, or whatever the weather may send us. We've got biting edges on the sides of these square links which really gets a good grip and good purchase. They're constructed of low carbon steel so we're going to have a good, strong, durable chain and they're designed for passenger vehicles with limited wheel well clearances. It's going to give us the S Class rating for vehicles with the narrower edges around the tires and the sidewalls. more

Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains Review - 2001 Toyota Tacoma- Video
Today on this 2001 Toyota Tacoma, we're going to do a test fit of part number PW1034 from Glacier Chains, the Glacier cable snow tire chain. Now today we'll be working with tire size 205/75/R15. We'll start off our test fit by taking the tire chain and laying it over the top of the tire. You look at the cross chains or cables, and you can see how there is a clamp that goes around the outside edge of the tire. We want to make sure the edge of that clamp points away from the tire. Tuck it into the bottom and roll this vehicle backwards a little bit to have easy access to the fastener. more

Today on our 2011 Toyota Corolla, we'll be test fitting the Glacier V-Trac cable snow tire chains, part number PW1930V. We'll be test fitting these tire chains on tire size 195/65/15. And this vehicle is front wheel drive, so we will be installing the tire chains on the front set of tires. Now today, for demonstration purposes, our vehicle is on a lift to show you the connection points of the tire chains a little bit better. Now before we begin our test fit, we will first need to lay the chains flat out on the ground to undo any kinks or tangles. Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains Review - 2010 Toyota Tacoma- Video
Today on our 2010 Toyota Tacoma, with tire size 245 7516, well be installing the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains part number PW 1046.Now, to begin our test bit, well need to lay the chains out on the ground and make sure that we get any kinks or knots out of the chains themselves. With that done, we can then drape our chains over the tire, making sure that the labeling here on the cross chain hook that says tire side faces the tire. Another good indication is to make sure that the hook of the chain faces out. Now that our chains are draped over our tire and centered in the tire tread, well work our way down to the 6 oclock position here on the inside of the tire, where we can connect the two ends of the side chain together, taking up as much of the slack within the chain as possible. We can then move to the outside of the tire, where well take the two ends of the outside chain and hook them together, again, taking up as much of the slack as possible. Now, when taking up the slack, youll want to make sure that you stay within one link of the chain on either side. more

Now this vehicle is primarily rear wheel drive so we will be installing the tire chains on the back set of tires. Well now drape the tire chain over the tire making sure the tire chain is centered and the hooks of the tire chain are facing out so that we dont damage the outer wall of the tire. more

Konig Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains Installation - 2007 Toyota 4Runner- Video
Today we will be test fitting the Thule XG 12 snow tire chains, part number TH2004705265 on 265/60-18 tires on a 2007 Toyota 4 Runner. We will be test fitting the tire chains on the rear of the vehicle, see your owners manual for exact specifications. Before we begin our test fit lay the tire chain flat on the ground with the yellow one to the cable on the right. Undo any tangles or kinks, slide the tire chain underneath the vehicle, and bring the blue cable up on the inner side of the tire, and connect the ends. Then secure the two red hooks towards the top of the tire, slide the silver cable through the red retching device, and secure with the elastic tensioner. Now drive the vehicle a little bit forward to get rid of any excess slack, make sure to check your tire chains after driving a bit forward. more

Today on our 2012 Toyota 4Runner with tire size P265-70 R17, we'll be installing the Glacier V-Bar Snow Tire Chains with Cam Tighteners for Light Truck, part number PWH2828SC. Now this specially designed V-link style provide extra grip for superior traction in snow and ice. This creates a chain rugged enough to be used for either everyday or off-road applications. Now to begin our installation, we'll remove the chain and lay it out on the ground and remove any kinks or nuts in the chain itself. We'll then take our chains and drag them over the tire, making sure that the cam tighteners are on the outside of the tire. With our chains draped over and centered on the tire tread, we'll move to the inside of the tire where we'll connect the two ends of our side chain together, taking up as much of the slack in the chain as possible. more

Today on our 2012 Toyota Highlander with tire size P245-65-R17s. Well be installing the glacier tire chains part number PW3010C. Their easy to install and comply with all DOT. Now youll notice these chains do come with a yellow tab indicating the side as well as the direction of the chain. Well go ahead and sit our chains in place over the top of the tire. Youll want to make sure that the cable attachments are on the bottom side of the tire. more

Before we began our installation well need to be sure were placing the chains correctly. Youll notice that each side chain is marked with the words tire side. All right today on this 2002 Toyota Tundra, we're going to do a test fit of part number PWH2328SLC from Glacier Chains. We'll be working with a tire size of 265/70-R16. We'll start off our test fit by draping the chains over the tire. We'll take one end of the chain and run it down to the edge of the front of the tire, and then we'll go ahead and center the chain over a tire and going towards the back, we'll stretch it out as needed. We'll also make sure that the cam tensioners that are built into the chain are in their open position. And it's a good idea to check that before we install the chain. more

All right today, we're going to do a test fit of part number PW2028C from Glacier Chain. Now, we'll be test fitting this on a 2002 Toyota Tundra and the tire size we're working will be a 2/65-70 R16. And on this particular test fit, we'll be working with the back axle. We'll go ahead and start off our test fit by draping the cables over the tire. When you drape the cables over the tire, you want to make sure that the cross member hookup pins face to the outside, away from the tire tread. You also want to double check your owner's manual to make sure there is not any limitations on what type of change you can use with your vehicle. more

Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains Review - 2003 Toyota RAV4- Video
Today we have a 2003 Toyota RAV4 and were going to be test fitting the Glacier Cable Snow Tire Chains for light trucks, part number PW2029C. To fit the chains, the first thing we need to do is lie them up flat. Before you drape the chains over the tire, you want to note which way the raised ends of the cross member hooks are and you want to make sure that they face away from the tires thread. This will prevent them from damaging the tire. Youll also want to note before you drape the tires that the keyhole latch is on the right side, that way its in the proper rotation with the tire. Once weve checked the orientation of the cross member hooks, we can go ahead and drape the chain over the tire. more
